Sylvester holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree – in Public Administration (UDSM) and is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA - PP) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
Sylvester holds a BA (Hons) Degree in Public Administration from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-PP) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He has over twenty-three (23) years of professional experience analyzed as Four years with PricewaterhouseCoopers; Two years with KPMG Tanzania; two years with KPMG Channel Islands in the United Kingdom; about one year with Ernst & Young Tanzania and Thirteen (13) years with ABA Alliance as a Founding Partner.
Sylvester is in charge of audits of International NGOs across the East Africa Region and Beyond. He has audited entities funded by such donors as USAID/CDC; the Global Fund; DANIDA; SIDA; OXFAM; Plan International, among others.
He has attended various USAID/CDC Continuous Professional Education (CPE) training sessions relevant to audit work. Some of these have been:
• Winning USAID/CDC PEPFAR II AWARDS;
• USAID & CDC Regulations and Policies;
• NEW USAID and CDC Rules and Regulations;
• US GAGAS Yellow Book
In providing audit services for so many years, Sylvester has handled clients in virtually every industry. He has therefore developed a cutting edge in carrying out risk-based audits and in assisting clients to develop systems that ensure minimized operational risks in day-to-day business.
He has also undertaken a large number of advisory assignments involving: Forensic Audits; Financial Systems Reviews; End of Program Evaluations; Pre-grant Assessments; Business & Strategic Plan Reviews; Organization Analysis and Reviews; and, Due Diligence.
